Photo of me looking into a small compact mirror through the camera.

Fa(t)shion February – “ARGH YOU MEAN I HAVE TO WEAR CLOTHES IN PUBLIC?!” edition.

Photo of two notebooks on a table, the one on top in focus has a brown card cover with ideas in the middle and a light bulb above it and the one underneath is silver and has a pen sitting on top of it.

Tonight we had a very important meeting with Zoe concerning things and whatsits of a businessy and serious nature. There were notepads and pens involved, and also tales of $10 dresses in size fat from Barkins of all places. Note to self: Go to Barkins and look at the fat rack where all the labels have been cut out.

So my brain has been in a jar for the last few months. It’s taking a holiday and I was watching Gilmore Girls until half an hour before I had to leave for our meeting and was very stressed about having to put on clothes and went through approximately three outfits before settling on this one because we were already half an hour late and I hadn’t even put on make up. And then I made Nick take outfit photos. Sorry Zoe.

Outfit photo of me, fat and pale skinned, standing in front of a concrete brick wall. I'm wearing a short dress in a small dark floral print with a ruffle along the hem, black tights and brown cowboy boots. I carry a black bag and I'm wearing red lipstick.
Photo of my head, and I'm standing against a tree. I'm wearing red lipstick and the lilac dye has washed out of my hair leaving it pale yellow.

  1. <3 <3 <3 I am so excited about our project! I really hope it goes well and I am looking forward to the fancy Perkins expertise. :D

    (PS YOU LOOK LOVELY)

  2. Thank you so much for sharing a post – and the pictures.

I had dreams all night last night of cutting my (curly, shoulder-length) hair, which I wear up ALL the time anyway in a bunch of messy clips, short in a similar style. Seeing these pictures is just going to be the deciding factor, I know it. :-)

  3. Thanks for posting this, I decided that since I liked your dress so much, I would check out ASOS and see if I could get one similar. I didn’t get one the same but I picked up a couple of cute dresses and an adorable knitted headband all for $68 with free postage. Can’t wait to get them!

  4. I, too, like your short hair — allows for ease of access to your warm neck.

Tell Nick not to worry. I live 10K miles away. (He needs to sweat all the other lovers of big women who live in your area)

    Stay ‘fancy’, my friend!
