My favourite new blogs

I am addicted to Google Reader and the treasure chest of inspiration it offers me, but with so many fabulous blogs out there in internet land, it’s very easy to get congested and overwhelmed. I recently did a massive purge because I was finding it very difficult to keep up with all my feeds however when I came across these blogs, I couldn’t resist adding them to my Reader. (And I haven’t regretted it!)

distillate
Distillate is an Australian blog that covers design, craft, food and living stylishly. I know there are a bunch of blogs that cover this “niche” but it’s nice to read an Australian blog on an internet that assumes everyone is American!

holtermonster
I’m not sure how I ran across Lauren Rae Holtermann’s blog “Holtermonster“! It covers her own illustration practice as well as her take on the world, and I often find myself cracking up at her posts!

outsapop
I’m going to be honest with you, I’ve been following OutsaPop Trashion for a long time… but I don’t think I’ve ever declared how much I love her blog! Ms Outi posts tons of fashion inspiration and her own “trashion” tutorials. Trashion is all about reclaiming “trash” materials and turning them into fashion, and she’s absolutely inspired me in my own use of reclaimed objects to make accessories!

pocketrocket
Lauren is the Pocket Rocket, a sassy blogger covering fashion for plus sizes. I love that she not only reviews plus size fashion but also straight sized fashion – even though plus sizes can’t buy lots of stuff off the rack, doesn’t mean we can’t be influenced by OTR or haute couture trends!

spokesndaggers
Spokes ‘n’ Daggers is a gorgeous (Australian!) blog written by Gaby and Jane featuring utterly beautiful things like photography, fashion, movie stills and design. I’m always surprised and enamored of every post!

Pimp your favourite new blogs in the comments, or on your own blog! (Feed my blog addiction, go on!)

ETA: Oooh! If you use Google Reader, add me on there! My shared items are here – I’m not entirely sure how it all works, but if you add me I’ll be able to add you back :D

  1. What a gorgeous idea Nat! I love how you've included the blog headers – some good choices here. Will defo be checking all the ones I've never read!
How do you find Google Reader? I've been using a combination of the Blogger dashboard and Bloglovin' cos the preview pics catch my attention, but reckon I need something new!

  2. Thank you so much for putting Spokes n Daggers in there!!! And for introducing me to some awesome new ones too! Gaby xoxo

  3. I've never used any other feed reader but Google Reader, so I can't give an unbiased review! I group all the blogs I follow into categories (ie: personal, design, art, fashion, feminism etc) and I find it really helpful especially when I haven't caught up on my feeds in ages.

  4. Aww, thanks so much for the link! I feel all honoured :D

And yeah I don't know what's going on with my header at the moment – I'll just say I'm “between layouts”, haha. Thank you! x
